Atlanta wedding photographer {Amanda and Daniel} Old Courthouse on the Square wedding

What a pleasure it was to photograph Amanda and Daniel’s ‘old Hollywood’ wedding at The Old Courthouse on the Square in Decatur, Georgia! I love all my brides and grooms to pieces, but Amanda and Daniel are just super-duper special, and I’m so happy I got to know them!

Memorial Day giveaway

Sometimes, in the midst of the cookouts, parties, and time off work, we sometimes can forget the real meaning of Memorial Day and the sacrifices our armed forces make to defend the freedoms we enjoy.

So, this week, in honor of our armed forces, I want to give a little something back with two special contests–no voting, no craziness, just you and me and your story.

Baby Livvie {newborn portrait session} NC

Welcome to the world little baby Livvie! This sweet little girl is sure to be sugar and spice and everything nice, and queen of the girly-girls! I published her parent’s maternity portrait session from the mountains of NC a few months back, and I was thrilled to meet this sweet little girl, who has some of the most lovely (inside and out) parents around. {who are totally wrapped around her tiny little fingers!}

Engagement portrait session {Heather and Justin} Monroe, NC

I am so excited for Heather and Justin’s wedding coming up at The Victorian Crow’s Nest this September! I love working with happy people, and not only are Heather and Justin sweet as can be, their parents are equally as lovely. I know this will be a fun, full of laughter and love day, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.

Engagement session {Mimi and Ben} Charlotte, NC

Mimi and Ben will be getting married soooooo soon on May 19–I’m so excited for them! Mimi is a total DIY bride, and she documents her projects on her blog – totally worth a look for lots of fun crafts and innovative DIY ideas for a wedding!

Simply Bloom workshop {Review}

*It took me a while to get up the nerve to write this post. I should have written it immediately after, but I was afraid that there may be some sort of backlash, as they are well known and highly published photographers. I’ve been afraid that, perhaps by speaking out, I may offend someone and hurt myself / my chances of being published in certain blogs that are tight with them. I know I was not the only one sorely disappointed by this workshop, but these are my opinions, and I encourage anyone else to share their experiences in kind to help ‘buyer beware’. I recently found another review (of a different workshop) that made me realize, indeed, we do have the right to voice our opinions on the things we spend our hard earned money on, even within the photography world of workshops.

And the winner is….

I hate to report this contest was marred with a technical difficulty. Two of our couples traded the lead multiple times each day, and really worked hard to gain votes. Then, our voting application ended 24 hours early, and wouldn’t accept more votes. To make up for it, I continued the contest on my Facebook page.

Angie {Bridal portraits in the snow} Linville, NC

With this awesome warm weather, I thought I should put these gorgeous bridal portraits in the snow up before it got too hot!
