Fields of Dream – {Waxhaw, NC family photography}

? I was recently able to work with a very special project by fellow photographer Julie Phillips Staley {In His Image Photography} called ‘Fields of Dreams’. This event takes place in a gorgeous sunflower field in Waxhaw, NC, and is an exclusive event for children and their families affected by pediatric cancer. ?It was an extremely humbling experience…the little irritations and nuisances that annoy on a normal day seem so tiny, petty, and insignificant when you see these small children putting up a brave fight against such a nasty disease. There was no one there unaffected by these children-some smiling and happy to be out playing in the sunshine and flowers instead of sitting in a hospital room, some that seemed almost permanently sad and quiet from a lifetime of doctors and hospitals. Bless these children and their families. <3

Family photographs {Vancouver Island, BC}

In June, we took Jackson on his first international trip — to gorgeous Victoria, in Vancouver Island, BC (just a little north of Seattle, Washington). My husband had a meeting that Jackson and I tagged along on (and I booked an awesome Rock the Dress session while I was out there!).

Charlotte Wedding Photographer {Mimi and Ben}

?I’m so excited I actually got to attend a wedding as a guest….that hasn’t ?happened in ages! ? Mimi had hired the awesome Jagger Photography, out of Seattle, before we ever met, so I got to attend her wedding as a guest…I really didn’t know what to do with my hands! I took my camera along just to take some snapshots (this was also baby Jackson’s first wedding ever!)…so here they are!

NC Newborn Session {Baby Tucker}

?I don’t advertise newborn photography much; I mainly focus on weddings and everything bridal…but I do love some squishy sweet little babies! This adorable guy was a little older than I usually recommend for newborn portraits (the first 12 days are best so they stay sleepy, plus they’re much more ‘bendy’!) but I was still thrilled to spend some time with this sweet little guy. They grow soooo quickly-it’s important to document these first few weeks especially since they change pretty much daily!

NC Child Photography {Ava’s First Birthday Party}

A first birthday is such a big milestone–I was so glad to be a part of sweet Ava’s first birthday–even if the birthday girl didn’t even make it to the cake! (she was exhausted and took a nap halfway through her own party!) But, this was a super cute, modern Minnie Mouse and zebra print theme birthday party–super adorable! :)

Charlotte Wedding Photography {Liane and Ryan} Bryan’s South End

?I went to high school with Liane (just a couple years ago ;) ), and so I was so excited to get to photograph her wedding to Ryan at Byron’s SouthEnd. Liane is just such a happy, vibrant person, it was a pleasure to work with her on such an important occasion. And, with a big Italian family attending, I knew I was in for a fun night!

NC Newborn Session {Baby Meliah}

? There’s not much better in this world than a brand new, sweet little newborn baby love! Baby Meliah was 13 days old when I met her for her very first portrait session, and what a little lovebug she was! I adore her sweet, squishy little cheeks!

NC Engagement Session {Lauren and Brandon}

Lauren and Brandon are getting married at The Dairy Barn in Fort Mill, South Carolina this December, so that was a natural spot for their fun, rustic engagement portrait session. The Dairy Barn has so much gorgeous land around, it’s a wonderful spot for fun and natural photographs.

Jackson LOVES the beach!

Jackson really adores the beach. There’s something magical about a handful of sand and the roar of the ocean he really responds to. I can’t wait to take him back in a few weeks (I’ll be there for a couple of portrait sessions — feel free to call and book yours while I’m there!). Now, a few photos of the childhood joy of the biggest sandbox ever…

Charlotte Wedding Photographer {Morgan and Tommy} Firethorne Country Club

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Morgan and Tommy’s wedding at the gorgeous Firethorne Country Club. Morgan was really hoping for an outdoor wedding, but after on and off rain showers all day long (and some awful thunder and lightning), the wedding took place indoors in front of the huge and gorgeous stone fireplace. Luckily, the rain stopped long enough to take some portraits outdoors on the lovely golf course around the clubhouse.

NC Bridal Session {Nicole} Duke Mansion

Nicole recently wed her longtime sweetheart in uptown Charlotte, so I can finally show her fabulous bridal portraits we took at The Duke Mansion!
