I’m so excited about one of Charlotte’s coolest new wedding venues- Lost Hollow at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden! DSBG has always been one of my favorite wedding venues around, and this new addition just adds on the the gorgeousness. I worked with some amazing wedding vendors from Charlotte to put together a few images that showcase how Lost Hollow can be utilized for a wedding-there are a ton of options!
Here is another beautiful bohemian bridal look styled by Aubre’s Bridal, hair and makeup by Sissy Duncan, with this incredible gold Claire Pettibone wedding gown by J Majors Bridal in Charlotte, NC. We photographed this look at The Laboratory Mill wedding venue near Charlotte, NC.
I loved photographing this editorial bohemian bridal portrait session at the gorgeous Laboratory Mill wedding venue. This is an amazing wedding venue; it was the first mill in North Carolina, and is situated alongside a beautiful river and The Carolina Thread Trail. The owners lovingly restored the original wood floors and antique wooden beams to keep its historical charm. The exposed brick walls add to the look. The day was phenomenally warm, so we spent most of our time outdoors, but this is a sure winner for a historical wedding location.
Angie had been engaged to Vance for several years before they finally set a date to have their dream wedding in Hawaii. Before she left, she did want to have some bridal portraits taken in her hometown, so she gave me a call and told me about her vision of having them taken in a field with flowers and a horse. She had a friend with horses who lived near her, so we set up a session on what I think may have been the hottest day of the year. Angie was a real trouper; the horses were very big and didn’t really listen to direction, but she handled them beautifully.
Lazaro…oh, how I love Lazaro bridal gowns. This one from J. Majors Bridal in Charlotte, NC, is no exception. I love this one twice as much, though, since it’s a showstopping wedding gown and reception gown in one. With the beautiful half tulle skirt over the lace sheath dress, it has incredible drama for your wedding ceremony entrance, but detaches easily for an easy-to-dance-the-night-away sheath. I love how Aubre dressed this gown up for high drama with this gorgeous pearl and rhinestone headpiece and then switched it up for a romantic, heavenly flower crown by the insanely talented Deedie Springer from Springvine Design. I’ve seen a lot of floral crowns, but Deedie blows me away with her exquisite crowns.
I loved photographing Hailey and Josh’s wedding last fall at the beautiful Separk Mansion in Gastonia, NC, and I was thrilled to find out they were having a sweet little boy this year! I adore getting to snuggle my couple’s beautiful babies and maintaining relationships with them as their family grows and changes.
Ivey and Randy’s autumn themed wedding at the Hammond Preston House in Anderson, SC, was on a perfect October day. Pumpkins lined the fence where they said their vows under a gorgeous Carolina blue sky.
I adore this family. Hailey is a beautiful person, inside and out, and I’m so happy to call her a friend. This sweet little family of three is soon to be a family of four, and we did a super quick gender reveal when they found out they were having another little boy! She’s only twenty weeks here (usually, maternity portraits are best between weeks 26-34!), and so super adorable.
Hayley and Justin were referred to me by one of my past super sweet couples–it’s always such an honor when I’m referred! I’m super excited to photograph their oceanside wedding this November. In the meantime, we celebrated their love with a fun fall engagement session at the beautiful Carrigan Farms this past October.
Bit of Hope Ranch in Gastonia, NC provides equine therapy to at-risk children in the Gaston county area. They have a great facility with a beautiful pond and sweet horses. They have recently opened up their facility to events and weddings, and asked me to come out and do some photographs of a possible wedding set up, and Tracy from Aisle Do Events and Deedie from Springvine Design did a wonderful job putting together a soft pink and gray modern set up in the reception area at the ranch. Queen Bee Bakery created the fun chevron cake for the shoot.
My newest little guy was born December 3, 2013! Little Harrison was 21.5 inches, and 8 pounds, 13.3 ounces (so I guess not so little!). I have taken the past 7 weeks to spend lots of quality time with him and his brother, so I took a work/blog hiatus. Now that I’m back to blogging, I just realized I haven’t shared any photos of him!
Haley and Josh we married at a new wedding venue – Separk Mansion in Gastonia, NC-in fact, they were the first couple to be married there ever! They had a gorgeous rustic wedding theme with burlap, wildflowers, tree rings and touches of cotton.
If you follow my blog, you may remember Ashleigh and Shane. I’ve photographed quite a few important moments in their life, and I couldn’t feel more honored to have been there for one of the biggest-the birth of their first son, Harrison.
This past summer, I got to work with a super fun, extremely talented wedding vendors for a colorful, fun, carnival themed wedding inspiration shoot. From the colorful yellow dress to the cupcake truck, this carnival inspiration was nothing but a good time!
Though I’m still on maternity leave myself, something popped up in my facebook newsfeed today that inspired me to pick up my laptop and write a quick blog post– a super sweet, ridiculously adorable couple was headed to the hospital to welcome their son into the world! It made me realize I hadn’t posted their maternity session yet, so I’m posting it today!
I adored getting to meet and photograph sweet newborn baby A! She was such a sweet little snuggler, and her parents were amazing! I also loved her adorable nautical themed nursery-sooo ridiculously cute!
I’m so excited to finally be able to share Haley’s beautiful bridal portraits taken in downtown Belmont, NC! Her wedding at Separk Mansion in Gastonia, NC was gorgeous and I can’t wait to be able to post those, too…
Ivey and Randy had a gorgeous wedding at the Hammond-Preston House in Anderson, SC this weekend, so I can finally share her beautiful bridal portraits! Ivey was a ridiculously lovely bride. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
I was beyond thrilled when I heard from Charlotte Wedding magazine, asking if I’d like to shoot their fall fashion spread. Me? Photograph gorgeous wedding gowns and jewelry in the super cool McColl Center for Visual Art??? Hmmm…lemme think…YES!
Our day began around 6 am with beautification of our already gorgeous bridal model, and me oohing and ahhing over the rack of gorgeous bridal gowns collected from the fantastic bridal salons in and around Charlotte. (there may have been a little planning to talk my husband into marrying me again so I could get a new wedding gown going on too…)
Oh, my goodness, what a little sweetheart little Miss Henderson was to snuggle! She was 8 days old when I got to visit her for her very first portrait session! She really wanted to stay awake and see what was going on, but we finally got her sleepy and took some oh-so-sweet photos of her.
Congratulations to the proud parents!
Katrina and Taaq came from New York City to celebrate their wedding day at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, NC. Raleigh natives, Katrina and Taaq met while attending UNC Chapel Hill before moving to NYC. They came back south to celebrate with the many friends and family that still live in this area, but drew a crowd to their wedding from all over the Eastern seaboard.
Katrina and Taaq came all the way from New York City to have their wedding day at the gorgeous Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont, NC. Raleigh, NC natives, Katrina and Taaq met while attending UNC Chapel Hill. Katrina moved to NYC, and Taaq followed to be close to the love of his life! They came back to NC to celebrate their wedding with their friends and family who still live locally in the Charlotte and Raleigh areas, but drew guests from all up and down the Eastern seaboard.
Jessica from All Made Up and I worked with a great after school group of ladies at a local high school to give them a mini makeover and senior portrait photo session. All these girls were so sweet and fun to work with!
Baby D was only 7 days new when I got to meet him for his very first portrait session with CFP intern English. He was a sweet, snuggly little newborn baby boy and such a great little snuggler!
Verna from Delicacies by Verna treated me and my husband to something special– a date night! She came over to our house and created a lovely dinner for us to sit back, relax and enjoy…something that is sometimes tough to do while pregnant and with a two year old rambunctious little boy! Thanks so much Verna!
My babysitter is going to be a senior this year! She does so much for us; and Jackson loves her so very much, of course I had to do her senior portraits before she started back to school next week. She is so smart, and loves to read, so I thought the library would be a great place to start her portrait session.
Emily is one of my babysitter’s best friends. Though I don’t typically do senior portraits (I mostly photograph weddings and newborns), of course I had to do a session for Lexia, and invited Emily to come along as well. They both start their senior year this week!
Brandalyn and Charles were married at an old family home, Connors Twelve Oaks, with a gorgeous peacock theme in all details of the wedding day. (I especially love her rhinestone shoes!)
Mercedes and Curtis wanted to do their engagement session uptown Charlotte with a little skyline view. They’re getting married in May 2014!
Nikki and Ben were married in the beautiful new Brakefield at Riverwalk wedding venue in Rock Hill, SC. It was another rainy day (it rained for Nikki’s bridal portraits as well), but neither of them ever stopped smiling all day-they were soooo much fun to be around! Oh, and I love the bridesmaid’s patterned dresses-so fun!
