Charlotte wedding photographer
I adored getting to meet and photograph sweet newborn baby A! She was such a sweet little snuggler, and her parents were amazing! I also loved her adorable nautical themed nursery-sooo ridiculously cute!
I’m so excited to finally be able to share Haley’s beautiful bridal portraits taken in downtown Belmont, NC! Her wedding at Separk Mansion in Gastonia, NC was gorgeous and I can’t wait to be able to post those, too…
Ivey and Randy had a gorgeous wedding at the Hammond-Preston House in Anderson, SC this weekend, so I can finally share her beautiful bridal portraits! Ivey was a ridiculously lovely bride. Congratulations to the newlyweds!
I was beyond thrilled when I heard from Charlotte Wedding magazine, asking if I’d like to shoot their fall fashion spread. Me? Photograph gorgeous wedding gowns and jewelry in the super cool McColl Center for Visual Art??? Hmmm…lemme think…YES!
Our day began around 6 am with beautification of our already gorgeous bridal model, and me oohing and ahhing over the rack of gorgeous bridal gowns collected from the fantastic bridal salons in and around Charlotte. (there may have been a little planning to talk my husband into marrying me again so I could get a new wedding gown going on too…)
Oh, my goodness, what a little sweetheart little Miss Henderson was to snuggle! She was 8 days old when I got to visit her for her very first portrait session! She really wanted to stay awake and see what was going on, but we finally got her sleepy and took some oh-so-sweet photos of her.
Congratulations to the proud parents!
Katrina and Taaq came from New York City to celebrate their wedding day at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, NC. Raleigh natives, Katrina and Taaq met while attending UNC Chapel Hill before moving to NYC. They came back south to celebrate with the many friends and family that still live in this area, but drew a crowd to their wedding from all over the Eastern seaboard.
Katrina and Taaq came all the way from New York City to have their wedding day at the gorgeous Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens in Belmont, NC. Raleigh, NC natives, Katrina and Taaq met while attending UNC Chapel Hill. Katrina moved to NYC, and Taaq followed to be close to the love of his life! They came back to NC to celebrate their wedding with their friends and family who still live locally in the Charlotte and Raleigh areas, but drew guests from all up and down the Eastern seaboard.
Jessica from All Made Up and I worked with a great after school group of ladies at a local high school to give them a mini makeover and senior portrait photo session. All these girls were so sweet and fun to work with!
Baby D was only 7 days new when I got to meet him for his very first portrait session with CFP intern English. He was a sweet, snuggly little newborn baby boy and such a great little snuggler!
Verna from Delicacies by Verna treated me and my husband to something special– a date night! She came over to our house and created a lovely dinner for us to sit back, relax and enjoy…something that is sometimes tough to do while pregnant and with a two year old rambunctious little boy! Thanks so much Verna!
My babysitter is going to be a senior this year! She does so much for us; and Jackson loves her so very much, of course I had to do her senior portraits before she started back to school next week. She is so smart, and loves to read, so I thought the library would be a great place to start her portrait session.
Emily is one of my babysitter’s best friends. Though I don’t typically do senior portraits (I mostly photograph weddings and newborns), of course I had to do a session for Lexia, and invited Emily to come along as well. They both start their senior year this week!
Brandalyn and Charles were married at an old family home, Connors Twelve Oaks, with a gorgeous peacock theme in all details of the wedding day. (I especially love her rhinestone shoes!)
Mercedes and Curtis wanted to do their engagement session uptown Charlotte with a little skyline view. They’re getting married in May 2014!
Nikki and Ben were married in the beautiful new Brakefield at Riverwalk wedding venue in Rock Hill, SC. It was another rainy day (it rained for Nikki’s bridal portraits as well), but neither of them ever stopped smiling all day-they were soooo much fun to be around! Oh, and I love the bridesmaid’s patterned dresses-so fun!
Shannon from Queen City Catering asked me to come out and take some detail shots for a super cool dairy farm wedding Queen City was catering near Clover, SC. This wedding was so full of sweet little details and wildflowers, including a huge deck specially built for the wedding reception by the bride’s family.
I recently spoke with Julie Haack of Donald Haack Diamonds in Charlotte about engagement rings. An engagement ring is a purchase you’ll treasure forever, so of course you want to get as much information as possible before making that very important decision. While visiting, I snapped a few photographs of some of my favorite diamond engagement rings in their inventory…I hope you enjoy them as much as I did!
Erica and Jesse met in Atlanta in their junior year of college, and have been inseparable ever since. They celebrated their love for each other with a beautiful beach wedding in lovely Wilmington, NC.
I loved photographing Nikki’s bridal portrait session at the Dairy Barn in Fort Mill, SC. Our first session had been rained out, and this day, after a week of weather in the high 70s, turned out chilly and windy, but Nikki was a trouper and hung in there anyway!
I’ve been pretty much MIA on the blog here lately…. not only is it the crazy part of the wedding year (lots of emails, traveling, late nights and editing)…. AND we are expecting a sibling for Jackson the end of November/beginning of December!
Verna from Delicacies by Verna is such a delight to be around! She is always so cheerful and happy-my favorite kind of person to be around! She also has the loveliest accent from her hometown of Kingstown, Jamaica.
Verna is known for her tastes of foods from all around the world, and she treated local wedding professionals to a spring tasting of her culinary creations!
I am so lucky…for so many reasons. I have the most wonderful son I could ever possibly dream of. Luckily, I have two wonderful friends who were pregnant the same time I was; and so Jackson has two fantastic best friends who were born within weeks of him. His friend Jace came by the other day and we took some photos…. Love them! <3
My friend Ines from Sky’s the Limit-Cakes and More! recently invited me to attend a NAWP (National Association of Wedding Professionals) meeting (since I don’t get out too much! ). The speaker, Ayesha Mian, gave us some insight into planning and working in Indian weddings. I love everything about Indian weddings-they’re just so colorful and such beautiful sensory experiences, with tons of gorgeous detail for photographs…I was super thrilled to be able to attend the meeting and hear Ayesha speak.
We also had yummy appetizers provided by Delicacies by Verna, cake by Wow Factor Cakes, and a Bollywood dance demonstration and lesson from Bollywood Glimpse.
Meet English, one of Christi Falls Photography’s 2013 interns! English is a photography major at Winthrop University, my alma mater, and is doing her internship for credit towards her degree.
What an exciting week it’s been around here! I just got my Fearless Photographers acceptance a few days ago…and today a new award landed in my email inbox! Christi Falls Photography was selected as one of the top 5% of all Two Bright Lights users! Lots of exciting things happening this year..
Meet Laura! She will be interning with me here at Christi Falls Photography this year. We did a little mini session to get her feet wet with how I photograph my family portrait sessions, and included her adorable 7 year old twins! Those two have a lot of energy!
Aaaaaah! So excited to have just gotten my acceptance into Fearless Photographers!
Fearless Photographers is a directory of more than 1,800 of the world’s boldest wedding photographers for brides and grooms who truly love photography.
SNOW! Here in the Charlotte, NC area, we get really, really excited about it. If the ‘S word’ even gets mentioned in the weather report, we all seem to need to run out and stock up on eggs, milk and bread. (never mind the snow will probably be gone the next day! )
“The blizzard of 2013.” Yes, those 2-3 inches of accumulation here one Saturday and gone on Sunday…that was the NC blizzard of February 2013. Since snow is such an amazing and rare happening here in the lower NC/upper SC area, of course I had to grab my camera and find a willing model…enter my neighbor’s beautiful granddaughter. Luckily, I happened to have a wedding dress ‘just laying around’ the house, so we threw a look together in 5 minutes flat and ventured out into the ‘blistering cold’ (I know anyone not from the Carolinas and south of here is snickering at this point) for about 15 minutes to capture a few images in the soon-to-be-gone snow.
I’m so excited to share Heather and Adam’s engagement session–such a sweet couple! They will be getting married this June at a gorgeous family residence.
