This sweet little girl has a sweet big sister, whose adorable chubby cheeks I got to photograph when she was a new baby herself, just a few years ago. I love to see my clients families grow, and help document them through photographs along the way.
I probably should have posted these a while back…but you know how it goes… The cobbler’s kids have no shoes, the doctor’s kids are always sick-and the photographer’s kid has no photos. I am making a concerted effort to be sure I get Jackson in front of the camera more (early New Year’s Resolution)!
This is from the day Jackson and his best friends went to the pumpkin patch. We were a bit late in the month, so it was slim pickings in the field, but Jackson went and found his own little pumpkin anyway. The kids loved the ride around the farm on the big tractor, and the huge pumpkins!
This is Jackson’s best buddy ever!
And, then there is the newest little baby member of their kiddo playdate group…we’re waiting on him to get a little bigger so he can play too!
I love these children! I can’t wait to do a REAL portrait session for each of them…but I do love capturing these little moments of them having fun!
I couldn’t fit all the gorgeousness from Vancouver Island in one blog post last week, so I thought I’d do just one more post about the Butchart Gardens we visited while we were there..I LOVE to work in the garden, so I definitely had to check this out! Everything just grows huge there, and doesn’t burn up the way a lot of flowers seem to in the heat here. Delphiniums and foxgloves towered over my 6 foot one husband; peonies were nearly the size of my head–you literally could use just one as a bridal bouquet! I have a hard time deciding which part of the garden is my favorite–they had an amazing sunken garden that was designed to go down into a limestone quarry, a formal rose garden, Japanese garden, Italian garden…and lots of gorgeous natural areas as well.
(He LOVED riding the double decker bus..the wind in his hair cracked him up!)
These blue Himalayan poppies were pretty spectacular!
These peonies were seriously almost as big as my head, and the plant was almost my height (a little over 5’1″). I really wish I’d done a shot for comparison. These are one of my very favorite flowers…wish mine would get this big!
Jackson had his first carousel ride while we were there…He made it a couple revolutions around, and then he wanted off!
In June, we took Jackson on his first international trip — to gorgeous Victoria, in Vancouver Island, BC (just a little north of Seattle, Washington). My husband had a meeting that Jackson and I tagged along on (and I booked an awesome Rock the Dress session while I was out there!).
This was my first trip anywhere in Canada, and Victoria just blew me away with its beauty. I love to garden, so I was amazed at the gorgeous plant life and gardens there. Everything just grows so big there-it has a wonderful, temperate climate that is perfect for gardening.
We stayed in the absolutely amazing Empress Hotel-definitely a must see if you visit there! The service was extraordinary, and the rooms were beautiful and sooo comfortable!
While Jay was in his meeting, Jackson and I took a tour bus around the city, and got off at the park just a couple of blocks from the Empress. It was a huge, gorgeous park; with a petting zoo and free roaming peacocks–Jackson LOVED it!
(He’s eating the bread I brought for the ducks…)
(The baby goats loved him!)
I loved working with the L family for portraits of their gorgeous, sweet little daughters! With children, I love to let them run and play and capture them as they are…These are the moments you’ll treasure forever.
So, for their session, I loaded up all the fun kid stuff that little girls love to play with: bubbles, balloons, heart shaped confetti… and we ran, and played, climbed on the swingset and just had a great time-I had two sweet new (and very tired) friends by the end of our session.
Christi Falls is a wedding and portrait photographer located near Charlotte, NC but available for portrait photography and weddings worldwide.
This past week I had the pleasure of taking some family portraits of Christi, Jay and baby Jackson. I’m so glad I finally got to meet the little guy. He is so adorable!
Also, on a sidenote, I graduated college! Yay! This past Saturday I graduated Cum Laude from Winthrop University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. I loved college and I will miss being there, but I’m excited for the future!
See you next week,
