Verna from Delicacies by Verna is such a delight to be around! She is always so cheerful and happy-my favorite kind of person to be around! She also has the loveliest accent from her hometown of Kingstown, Jamaica.
Verna is known for her tastes of foods from all around the world, and she treated local wedding professionals to a spring tasting of her culinary creations!
I am so lucky…for so many reasons. I have the most wonderful son I could ever possibly dream of. Luckily, I have two wonderful friends who were pregnant the same time I was; and so Jackson has two fantastic best friends who were born within weeks of him. His friend Jace came by the other day and we took some photos…. Love them! <3
My friend Ines from Sky’s the Limit-Cakes and More! recently invited me to attend a NAWP (National Association of Wedding Professionals) meeting (since I don’t get out too much! ). The speaker, Ayesha Mian, gave us some insight into planning and working in Indian weddings. I love everything about Indian weddings-they’re just so colorful and such beautiful sensory experiences, with tons of gorgeous detail for photographs…I was super thrilled to be able to attend the meeting and hear Ayesha speak.
We also had yummy appetizers provided by Delicacies by Verna, cake by Wow Factor Cakes, and a Bollywood dance demonstration and lesson from Bollywood Glimpse.
Meet English, one of Christi Falls Photography’s 2013 interns! English is a photography major at Winthrop University, my alma mater, and is doing her internship for credit towards her degree.
What an exciting week it’s been around here! I just got my Fearless Photographers acceptance a few days ago…and today a new award landed in my email inbox! Christi Falls Photography was selected as one of the top 5% of all Two Bright Lights users! Lots of exciting things happening this year..
Meet Laura! She will be interning with me here at Christi Falls Photography this year. We did a little mini session to get her feet wet with how I photograph my family portrait sessions, and included her adorable 7 year old twins! Those two have a lot of energy!
Aaaaaah! So excited to have just gotten my acceptance into Fearless Photographers!
Fearless Photographers is a directory of more than 1,800 of the world’s boldest wedding photographers for brides and grooms who truly love photography.
SNOW! Here in the Charlotte, NC area, we get really, really excited about it. If the ‘S word’ even gets mentioned in the weather report, we all seem to need to run out and stock up on eggs, milk and bread. (never mind the snow will probably be gone the next day! )
“The blizzard of 2013.” Yes, those 2-3 inches of accumulation here one Saturday and gone on Sunday…that was the NC blizzard of February 2013. Since snow is such an amazing and rare happening here in the lower NC/upper SC area, of course I had to grab my camera and find a willing model…enter my neighbor’s beautiful granddaughter. Luckily, I happened to have a wedding dress ‘just laying around’ the house, so we threw a look together in 5 minutes flat and ventured out into the ‘blistering cold’ (I know anyone not from the Carolinas and south of here is snickering at this point) for about 15 minutes to capture a few images in the soon-to-be-gone snow.
I’m so excited to share Heather and Adam’s engagement session–such a sweet couple! They will be getting married this June at a gorgeous family residence.
The last Springmaid Mountain wedding inspiration by RoShel Events was an elopement inspired by Pantone color grayed jade and yellow.
I recently headed south to Louisiana to take part in a photography workshop. I love to use the slow season to branch out and see how other photographers are doing things, get inspired, and start the year fresh. I’m totally in love with the gorgeous wedding gowns from Samuelle Couture used in this inspiration session based on angels.
RoShel Events put together some gorgeous wedding inspirations at Springmaid Mountain Resort in Spruce Pine, NC and asked me to come photograph them! She wanted to show off their super cute red barn and made a rustic red theme to go along with it.
Recently, I headed down to Louisiana for a photography workshop. We had some gorgeous styled portrait sessions while we were there, including this beautiful bridal portrait session.
RoShel Events put together a gorgeous little mock wedding at Springmaid Mountain Resort in Spruce Pine, NC and asked me to come photograph it! She wanted to show off the Pantone color of the year-Emerald Green-and put together an amazing group of vendors to showcase her vision.
I flew down to Shreveport, Louisiana late January for a photography workshop; I love reaching out and being inspired by other photographers and artists.
I’m so excited!
I just got my new photography logo from On the Spot Studio, and Tiffany did a great job of creating something that is modern, clean, and gorgeous! I hope you like it!
I met Tenesha of RoShel Events not too long ago, but boy, does she move fast! Within days, we were planning our first collaborative wedding inspiration shoot, and then the timeline got moved up to only 3 weeks away! Tenesha wanted to showcase the Field Trial Barn at the Anne Springs Close Greenway — a rustic barn venue- with a glamorous twist! She designed the concept in only a few weeks, and enlisted an amazing group of vendors to participate!
I’ve been dying to do a Marie Antoinette inspired wedding styled shoot for a while now. Tonya from Pretty Planning Events took the challenge and created a gorgeous, opulent scene worthy of Marie Antoinette, along with a fabulous team of amazing wedding vendors at the new SC wedding venue, Brakefield at Riverwalk. Tonya also had the brilliant idea to feature 4 different bridal looks (from Lineage Bridal) to show how this wedding theme could work with different styles of wedding gown.
Joy and Bradley planned a super small, intimate wedding in the mountains of Little Switzerland, North Carolina. They drove from their home state of Alabama to say their vows overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains right before Thanksgiving.
Kaycie and Levi relocated to Charlotte from Asheville, NC and plan a destination wedding in Jamaica! They were a super stylish couple and I loved photographing their uptown Charlotte engagement portrait session. We started by the Greenway before heading to uptown Charlotte for some skyline photos.
Samantha and Joe’s wedding on the shores of Lake Wylie was a gorgeous event filled with personal details.
I’m so excited for my very first studio magazine’s release! Printed copies will arrive this Friday, but I just can’t wait to share!
I was so thrilled to hear from Samantha when she was getting married…we had actually worked together years and years ago, but I hadn’t heard from her in years. I loved meeting with her and her lovely mother to chat about all their wonderful wedding plans, and…must admit I was thrilled when her fiance Joe arrived and started talking. Joe is from England, and who doesn’t love a gorgeous accent?
