Delicacies by Verna {Taste of Spring event}

Verna from Delicacies by Verna is such a delight to be around! She is always so cheerful and happy-my favorite kind of person to be around! She also has the loveliest accent from her hometown of Kingstown, Jamaica.

Verna is known for her tastes of foods from all around the world, and she treated local wedding professionals to a spring tasting of her culinary creations!

Best friends { Charlotte child and and family photographer }

I am so lucky…for so many reasons. I have the most wonderful son I could ever possibly dream of. Luckily, I have two wonderful friends who were pregnant the same time I was; and so Jackson has two fantastic best friends who were born within weeks of him. His friend Jace came by the other day and we took some photos…. Love them! <3

NAWP Charlotte – Indian Weddings

My friend Ines from Sky’s the Limit-Cakes and More! recently invited me to attend a NAWP (National Association of Wedding Professionals) meeting (since I don’t get out too much! ;) ). The speaker, Ayesha Mian, gave us some insight into planning and working in Indian weddings. I love everything about Indian weddings-they’re just so colorful and such beautiful sensory experiences, with tons of gorgeous detail for photographs…I was super thrilled to be able to attend the meeting and hear Ayesha speak.

We also had yummy appetizers provided by Delicacies by Verna, cake by Wow Factor Cakes, and a Bollywood dance demonstration and lesson from Bollywood Glimpse.

NC engagement photographers {Leslie and Clif} snow engagement portraits

SNOW! Here in the Charlotte, NC area, we get really, really excited about it. If the ‘S word’ even gets mentioned in the weather report, we all seem to need to run out and stock up on eggs, milk and bread. (never mind the snow will probably be gone the next day! ;) )

Bridal session in the snow {Lexia} Charlotte, NC wedding photographer

“The blizzard of 2013.” Yes, those 2-3 inches of accumulation here one Saturday and gone on Sunday…that was the NC blizzard of February 2013. Since snow is such an amazing and rare happening here in the lower NC/upper SC area, of course I had to grab my camera and find a willing model…enter my neighbor’s beautiful granddaughter. Luckily, I happened to have a wedding dress ‘just laying around’ the house, so we threw a look together in 5 minutes flat and ventured out into the ‘blistering cold’ (I know anyone not from the Carolinas and south of here is snickering at this point) for about 15 minutes to capture a few images in the soon-to-be-gone snow.

Country Couture wedding inspiration photography- Field Trial Barn at Anne Springs Close Greenway

I met Tenesha of RoShel Events not too long ago, but boy, does she move fast! :) Within days, we were planning our first collaborative wedding inspiration shoot, and then the timeline got moved up to only 3 weeks away! Tenesha wanted to showcase the Field Trial Barn at the Anne Springs Close Greenway — a rustic barn venue- with a glamorous twist! She designed the concept in only a few weeks, and enlisted an amazing group of vendors to participate!

Wedding Inspiration {Marie Antoinette} Brakefield at Riverwalk

I’ve been dying to do a Marie Antoinette inspired wedding styled shoot for a while now. Tonya from Pretty Planning Events took the challenge and created a gorgeous, opulent scene worthy of Marie Antoinette, along with a fabulous team of amazing wedding vendors at the new SC wedding venue, Brakefield at Riverwalk. Tonya also had the brilliant idea to feature 4 different bridal looks (from Lineage Bridal) to show how this wedding theme could work with different styles of wedding gown.
