Amanda and Daniel held their “classic Old Hollywood” wedding at the Old Courthouse on the Square in Decatur, Georgia. What a beautiful location! The huge palladium windows and gleaming white marble made a perfect spot for them to exchange their vows.
I loved everything about this wedding (especially the bride and groom!). The first time I actually met Amanda in person, she made me cry. Literally.
It started raining about halfway into the four hour drive from Charlotte NC to Young Harris, Georgia, and so of course, I was praying, praying, praying it would be nice out for our engagement session (it wasn’t). But, when I pulled into the parking lot to meet them, Amanda came and gave me a big hug, and said “I have something for you”. I was surprised, but when I saw what it was…I literally cried a little. This amazing talent had painted an oil portrait of my son Jackson, just from seeing a photo I had posted of him on my blog. What a wonderful and generous person she is, and I’ll always have this special spot in my heart for her!
But, I digress…back to their glamorous, classic Old Hollywood wedding in lovely Decatur. I believe we left off last time as they were saying their vows…
The whole bridal party was so fun…We were taking a break between groupings, and next thing I know, they come out with laser guns! Yep, definitely the first wedding I’ve ever photographed with laser guns!
Oh, and the fabulous lady far left? She’s Amanda’s sister, and also intensely talented. She owns Savoreux Cupcakery and made the gorgeous wedding cake and to-die-for red velvet cupcakes with cinnamon buttercream……Yummy!
